A lot can happen in 8 years, which is especially true for Amanda Martinell. Over the last few years, she has grown alongside our company, adapting to new roles and helping to elevate our business as the industry evolves.
In her newest venture as VP of Business Development, Amanda’s primary focus revolves around building and nurturing our client partnerships. She collaborates closely with our partners to ensure that we not only meet but surpass their anticipations, all while delivering exceptional service to their policyholders.
So how does she do it? And more importantly, why does she do it? We sat down with Amanda to explore how her job adds meaning to not only her client’s lives but also her own.
What’s a favorite memory you have from your time here at TheBest Claims?
Oh, that’s easy. Those early years when we were still a fairly small company, working day and night to help policyholders get back on their feet after a storm. Nothing beats the family and the sense of community we created during my first storm season.
Do you have any daily habits you swear by?
Growing up, my dad always told me that if my workday for tomorrow was not planned before the end of today, it had already been wasted. By instilling this in me, I make sure before the end of each day that my goals and objectives for the next day are already determined. This typically looks like preparing a list of partners I have not spoken to in a while that I want to call to say a quick “hello” or check in on how a program we created together is going.
What’s one thing you love about what you do?
One of the things I love most about my job is the opportunity to meet people at all levels of the organization, from entry-level employees who may have joined the industry to follow in their family’s footsteps, to executive leaders, who never imagined working in insurance but found their way here and have loved it for decades. Being fairly new to the industry compared to some of my colleagues, it has been a rewarding experience to learn from each of these individuals and hear their insights and experiences.
What about our mission, “Through meaningful partnerships, our mission is to lead the claims industry in providing quality solutions that put people first,” resonates with you most?
“Putting people first,” has always been a quality I have felt strongly about in my personal and professional life. I’ve often been described as an old soul due to my ability to build and nurture long-lasting relationships. I genuinely prioritize others’ needs and align my approach to accommodate each of my partners regardless of how different their goals may be.
